Values and Ethos
IMAGINE - BELIEVE - ACHIEVE
To provide a happy, stimulating and respectful environment in which pupils achieve well and make memories which will last throughout their lives. We see our school as being at the centre of the community it serves and providing support to children and families in an ever changing world. We want all children to leave our school as confident, independent, resilient individuals with high aspirations and a positive attitude.
To enable all of our children to achieve their full potential;
To empower our pupils with skills for life;
To provide a welcoming, happy and safe environment for children, parents and staff;
For our children to be happy and enjoy all the areas of school life;
To help pupils to develop healthy, fit bodies and equip them with a wide range of physical skills;
To make learning exciting, creative and fun;
To develop confident and independent learners;
For our children to develop self esteem and be confident, responsible individuals;
For our children to have an understanding of and respect for their own and other beliefs and cultures.
At Heathfield, we aim to develop strong attitudes to learning. we have 4 learning mascots - Proud Peacock, Teamwork Toucan, Outstanding Owl and Persistent Penguin.
We encourage children to develop and demonstrate the attributes of pride in their work, co-operation with other, high expectations of themselves and perseverance in the face of challenges.
One child from each class is chosen each week as "learner of the week" for demonstrating these attributes. They are given a certificate in our Friday morning assembly. Parents of the "learner of the week" are invited to attend the assembly.
