PE

Heathfield Primary school provides a high-quality physical education curriculum which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We believe that opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

The PE curriculum at Heathfield will develop competence to partake in a broad range of physical activities. It ensures that children are physically active and gives opportunities to engage in competitive sports and activities and educates children in how to lead healthy, active lives.

So far this year we have competed in competitions with other schools across the town. These include:

  • Football

  • Swimming

  • Tri-Golf

  • Tag Rugby

  • Boccia

  • Tennis

  • Football

  • Hockey

  • Athletics

  • Cricket

We also run a variety of after-school clubs using the expertise of staff within the school as well as outside agencies with specialties in particular sports. This helps children to develop their teamwork as well as giving them a competitive edge in competitions across the town. The school also provides a specialist football coach during dinnertimes to allow children to develop their skills.
