At Heathfield we follow the ‘Darlington agreed RE syllabus’ (2015) which provides a balanced curriculum promoting the spiritual, moral, cultural, social, mental and physical development of pupils.Teaching RE prepares pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

Along with Christianity, the teaching of RE takes in to account the teachings and practices of other principle religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam Judaism and Sikhism.  Exploring the concepts of religion and beliefs supports the celebration of diversity and plays an important role in preparing pupils for adult life, employment and lifelong learning.
